The Foundation of the Surefoot Fit

Custom Orthotics
For Ski Boots.

Every great boot fit starts under the foot. A Surefoot custom orthotic is built from a precise scan of your foot and ready in about 30 minutes, holding your feet in a strong, neutral position for every run.

Why It Matters

In a ski boot, everything you do travels through your feet. The orthotic is the first of the four components of the Surefoot system: it holds your feet in their strongest, most stable position, so the liner, shell, and heater above it can do their jobs. When your feet are supported in a neutral position, everything above them works better: balance, edge control, and comfort through a full day on the mountain.

What a Custom Footbed Changes

A Neutral, Stable Stance

The orthotic supports your foot in a neutral position, giving you a balanced, stable platform in the boot from the first run to the last.

Built the Same Day

Scanned, built, and fitted in a single store visit. Start with the orthotic on its own, or make it the first step of a full custom boot fitting.

Any Boot, Any Brand

Surefoot orthotics work in every brand and model of ski boot. You do not need a new boot to upgrade the fit of the one you own.

Scan. Build. Fit.

1

Scan

A precise 3D scan captures your foot's shape and how your weight distributes across it, in minutes.

2

Build

Your orthotic is built in store from your scan, matching your foot's exact contours, in about 30 minutes.

3

Fit

A Surefoot fitter seats the orthotic in your ski boot and dials in the fit, backed by the Absolute Fit Guarantee.

Questions

Do custom orthotics work in any ski boot?

Yes. Surefoot custom orthotics fit every brand and model of ski boot. Your fitter trims and seats the orthotic in your boot in store, and if you buy new boots later, any of our 29 stores can fit your orthotic to them.

What's the difference between a footbed, an insole, and an orthotic?

Different names for the same idea: the layer your foot stands on inside the boot. Skiers tend to say footbed, shoe brands say insole, and the medical world says orthotic. A Surefoot custom orthotic is that layer, built from a scan of your foot rather than picked off a wall.

Do I need a custom orthotic if I'm getting a custom liner?

They do different jobs and work together. The orthotic supports your foot from below and sets your stance; the foam-injected liner shapes around your foot and ankle above it. Every full Surefoot fitting starts with the orthotic.

How long does it take?

About 30 minutes from scan to finished orthotic in store. A full boot fitting with a custom liner takes about an hour.

Are custom orthotics covered by insurance or HSA/FSA?

Custom orthotics are more commonly covered than liners when prescribed for a specific condition. Ask your Surefoot technician for an itemized receipt; HSA/FSA reimbursement depends on your account and medical justification.
