The story

The first sock designed by bootfitters.

Surefoot is the world's leading bootfitter — 44 years of experience, 29 locations, and a million pairs of fitted boots. After all those fittings, one thing was clear: no sock on the market was actually designed for what happens inside a ski boot.

And who knows better what happens inside a ski boot than the people who fit them? The Vapor series is the result — engineered from scratch around biomechanics, pressure zones, and precision fit.

  • 44 years and a million fitted boots
  • 29 physical locations worldwide
  • Designed and tested in Park City, Utah

"Comfort starts from the first step. We designed the Vapor series because no one else had done it properly — and we know exactly what a foot needs inside a boot."

Questions

Ski sock FAQ

What makes the Vapor different from a normal ski sock?

It's engineered around the boot, not the foot in isolation. Eight knit zones map to the places a ski boot grips — cuff, calf, ankle, arch, heel, and toe — so the sock holds its position and your foot transfers power cleanly to the edge instead of sliding inside the shell.

Thin sock or thick sock for ski boots?

Thin. A precise boot fit depends on a thin, consistent layer — bulk just adds pressure points and cold spots. The Vapor is ultralight on purpose, built to all but disappear inside a Surefoot boot.

Won't merino wool be too warm, or itchy?

Merino regulates temperature rather than just adding heat — it keeps feet dry, warm, and odor-free across a full day. It's blended with nylon for durability and a soft, non-itchy next-to-skin feel.

What's the difference between Peaks, Diamond, and Plus?

All three share the merino blend, seamless toe box, ankle compression, and a women's fit. Diamond adds the diamond knit pattern; Plus adds shin padding for extra protection under the boot cuff. Peaks is the everyday Vapor.

Do they come in women's sizes?

Yes — every Vapor sock offers a women's fit. On each product page, toggle Men's / Women's to see your size.

How do I care for them?

Machine wash cool and air dry to protect the merino and the knit structure. Follow the care label on the sock for specifics.
